Charles Degiorgio who is well known amongst the horse racing enthusiasts in Malta and now also in Sweden is the new face behind Maltco’s popular game; UBET Swedish Horse Racing. Mr Degiorgio has been living in Scandinavia for the past 8 years and he is ranked amongst the top Swedish drivers-trainers.
In a short interview, Mr Degiorgio expressed his satisfaction and appreciation for being chosen to represent such a popular game. This humble Maltese man managed to make it amongst the top Swedish drivers by competing in important races in Sweden. Maltco’s UBET Marketing Manager Caroline Attard presented a financial contribution to Mr Degiorgio and on behalf of Maltco thanked him for accepting such an important role.
Back in 2009 Mr Degiorgio was honored as the Best Trainer of the year for Mantorp Racetrack, after he managed to obtain the greatest amount of winnings thanks to the training given to his horses. In Sweden, Degiorgio, who is based in Malmo, trains and drives trotters which are not only owned by Maltese but also by Swedish owners.
Maltco’s spokesperson said that this is an important and significant move forward towards promoting the local talent in the Horse Racing sector. “We do believe in the Maltese talent and we are honored that Mr Degiorgio has accepted this new role which marks an important landmark for Maltco Lotteries”. The spokesperson also explained that at the moment apart from the UBET Swedish, British and Irish Horse Racing which are very popular amongst the Maltese and foreign players, the company is currently working on a new project to expand further this by introducing other Horse Racing games from other countries.
The agreement was signed after a series of discussions between horse racing correspondent, Kenneth Vella and Caroline Attard. It should be noted that in the past years, Vella was also instrumental to secure other sponsorship deals for Charles Degiorgio, especially with the Malta Tourism Authority and the Kunsill Malti ghall-iSport.
