Next Saturday evening, Malta Racing Club’s champion driver Noel Baldacchino will be representing Malta in the 2nd leg of the Mediterranean Trotting Horse Racing Championship.

This race will be held at the Ippodromo del Mediterraneo in Syracuse and Noel Baldacchino will be accompanied by the Chairman of the Malta Racing Club Dr Matthew Brincat. During the short visit Dr Brincat will also be holding a series of meetings that could be beneficial to both owners and local horse racing.

The race, which is over the 1600m distance will take off at 9:45pm and has €3,300 in prize money. The starters should be 8 and Baldacchino has drawn number 6, the 6-year old mare Novi Ligure. This mare has raced 13 times during this year and has not yet registered a victory. In her career she has 7 wins from 88 starts.

On behalf of the Malta Racing Club Council as well as all racegoers we wish Noel Baldacchino a successful race.

The horses and drivers participating in this race are the following:

1. Ieper (S. D’Aluisi)

2. Olding As (F. La Rosa Jr)

3. Gadoni (A. Popov)

4. Naivasha (Jean Paul Fasquelle)

5. Mclaren Ur (C. Ferranti)

6. Novi Ligure (Noel Baldacchino)

7. Merico (Matteo Di Meo)

8. Osiris Joy (L. Gorjanc)

In the meantime, the Malta Racing Club Council would like to invite the general public for the last meeting of the season before the summer break. This racing programme is scheduled for Friday evening with the first Final starting at 7:00 p.m. Amongst the 7 finals the most important is undoubtedly the one reserved for the Premier Class and which starts at 09:05 p.m. (Press release issued by Lorraine Cunningham, Media Officer Malta Racing Club).
