IZIBET AND MALTA RACING CLUB SIGN SPONSORSHIP AGREEMENT

Izibet press conference

The Malta Racing Club is pleased to announce the completion of a sponsorship agreement with IZIBET, Malta’s fastest sports betting brand. Through this sponsorship agreement, IZIBET will be the title sponsor for the local ‘French Horse Racing Calendar’ within the Malta Racing Course for the next 3 years.

The sponsorship programme will kick in during the French Horse Racing Schedule culminating in the finals on June 12th 2016. The second segment within the French Horse Racing calendar will take place in October & December of this year.

Mr Franco Degabriele – Business Development Director of IZIBET, thanked the Malta Racing Club for their sterling work in their bid to continue to grow the horse racing industry in Malta and said he was very pleased that his company was associating itself with this popular sport in Malta. “We are very conscious of the fact that horse racing is one of the most popular sports activities in Malta,” remarked Mr Degabriele. “We are also aware that the French horses are one of the most sought after in the trotting industry in Malta that go back to 2003. However, for the first time and quite differently from the recent past, we are joining forces with the French Trotting Association Le Trot and our partners PMU to bring about better and more exciting experience to the trotting fans in Malta. Through our sponsorship we are assisting the MRC to improve the prizes for these popular races.”

The sponsorship with the Malta Racing Club and its close collaboration with Le Trot and PMU form an integral part of the company’ strategy. “Our French horse racing pari-mutuel service form an integral part of our services within IZIBET allowing horse racing enthusiast the ability to follow and bet on their favourite races on a daily basis,” concluded Mr. Degabriele.

We wish the Malta Racing Club, the owners of the horses and the jockeys every possible success next Sunday as their horses participate in the first final series of the French calendar this season.

Mr Edwin Borg, Chairman of the Malta Racing Club said he was very pleased to finalise this agreement with Izibet as this will enhance the racing calendar even further. Harness racing in Malta enjoys popularity that is only superceeded by football and sponsorships with reputable companies such as Izibet help us to organise better championships as befitting the high level of horses being imported to Malta.

The Le Trot Championships sponsored by the French Trotting Association are held twice yearly and are much looked forward to by all owners of French horses registered with the Malta Racing Club. For the fourth time in local harness racing history these finals have been granted PMU status meaning that these races will be transmitted worldwide and everyone has the opportunity to place their bets on them. Apart from the financial benefits of such an agreement, especially for the owners as they will be receiving much higher prize money, such races help to showcase the high level of competition offered locally as well as how much these horses are cared for and kept in impeccable conditions.

Next Sunday we have 5 finals – one for each class with the Prix de Vincennes (Premier), Prix d’Enghien (Gold), Prix de Cabourg (Silver) and Prix de Cagnes-sur-Mer (Bronze) being PMU Races with the other final being the Prix de Caen for Copper category. Since mid May all the French horses in Malta had the opportunity to try and qualify for these finals and now next Sunday we will be able to assist to these finals which should be well balanced ones and offer great spectacle. These five finals have a total of €24,000 in prize money.

As in the two previous PMU meetings local betting will only be possible through PMU and the bookmakers will not be operating during the four PMU races.

The Chairman finished off by once again thanking Izibet for their collaboration and wishing all owners and drivers for these upcoming finals which will be closing off the first part of the local season before switching off for evening Summer races. Due to the heat and in order to keep up with the stipulated racing times by PMU, the first race next Sunday will start at 4:00 pm.

Konxji wkoll li l-kampjonati ghal zwiemel Francizi huma fost l-aktar mistennija fil-kalendarju tat-trott lokali u li jmorru lura sal-2003. Izda b’differenza mis-snin li ghaddew, din id-darba, u ghall-ewwel darba, se nkunu qieghed ninghaqdu mal-club Malti, l-assocjazzjoni Franciza Le Trot u s-siehba taghna PMU biex inkomplu naghmlu dawn it-tigrijiet akbar u aktar eccitanti,” qal Degabriele.

Apparti l-benefiċċji finanzjarji ta’ ftehim bħal dan speċjalment għas-sidien li jirċievu premjijiet akbar, inkunu wkoll qed nuru l-livell ogħli ta’ kompetizzjoni li teżisti lokalment u b’liema mod premur is-sidien jieħdu ħsieb iż-żwiemel tagħhom sabiex iżżomuhom fl-aqwa kundizzjoni.

Nhar il-Ħadd għandna 5 finali – waħda għal kull klassi bil-Prix de Vincennes (Premier), Prix d’Enghien (Gold), Prix de Cabourg (Silver) u Prix de Cagnes-sur-Mer (Bronze) ikunu tiġrijiet PMU bil-finali l-oħra tkun il-Prix de Caen għall-Klassi Copper. Ic-Chairman ikkonkluda billi għal darb’oħra irringrazzja lil Izibet tal-kollaborazzjoni tagħhom u awgura lis-sidien u l-ġerrejja kollha għal dawn il-finali li ser ikunu qed jagħlqu l-ewwel parti ta’ l-istaġun qabel ma naqilbu għat-tiġrijiet tas-Sajf filgħaxija. Peress li s-sħana diġa ħadet sew u sabiex nonoraw il-ħinijiet tat-tiġrijiet stipulati mill-PMU, l-ewwel tiġrija nhar il-Ħadd tibda fl-4:00 pm.
